Alex Hua Tian's phenomenal rise to stardom!
Alex was the first rider to compete for China at an Olympic Games on home ground, in 2009. He talks to Fiona Price about his formative years growing up in Beijing and then Hong Kong, where he had a chance meeting with Lucinda and Clayton Fredricks, who trained him when he moved to the UK. Riding his mother's ex-racehorse Monkey, Alex got to 3* in 3 years. He then had a lucky break securing a vast sponsorship deal that sent him round the world in search of top horses. Though Beijing didn't go according to plan, Alex is one of the rising stars of the eventing scene!
